New Balance’s Tokyo Design Studio has been crafting some incredible footwear this year, pulling no punches with each release. This week, the Japanese team unveiled its latest creation, debuted in collaboration with Snow Peak, the TDS Niobium Concept 1.

The New Balance Niobium Concept first popped up on our radar early in August, when the running brand teamed up with Japan’s Snow Peak for a fishing-inspired collection that included the advanced new silhouette. The advanced concept silhouette was built to accommodate three silhouettes in one, a trail hiking shoe, an outdoor slipper, and an indoor slipper that comes in the form of the shoe’s inner booty. Now, fresh off the release of the Snow Peak x TDS Niobium Concept 1, the technical new model has been announced for release in two standard-issue colorways. The first pair is decked out in black, covering every minute detail of the Niobium in a dark inky color. The second is much brighter, mixing a golden yellow upper with black overlays and dark blue detailing.
