New Balance’s Tokyo Design Studio has delivered some of our favorite releases this year, with one more up their sleeve before we head into the new year. Check out the Fuelcell Speedrift Tabi boot, available now in Japan.

The New Balance Tokyo Design Studio in Japan has been steadily releasing advanced versions of some of the brand’s main silhouettes over the past two years, elevating New Balance footwear to an entirely new level. While some projects involve simple material changes, others go to greater lengths to amend the chosen canvas, like this month’s release of the new Fuelcell Speedrift Tabi boot. Building on the brand’s new Fuelcell line of running shoes, the Tokyo Design Studio version extends the cut of the shoe high above the ankle, providing a knit inner bootie for comfort and support, while a sheer textile shell protects your feet from the elements. The TDS Fuelcell Speedrift has also made a major adjustment to the toebox, coming in split-toe Tabi for a high-end fashion-inspired look.
