New Balance’s recent lifestyle offerings have taken the sneaker world by storm, from the 327 to the more recent return of the 550. Now, the Boston brand is ready to introduce another classic-inspired look, the RC30.
Boston footwear brand New Balance has designed a a fresh casual sneaker for 2022, building on the popularity of their other recent new introductions, which include the 327 and XC-72. Seemingly following down the same path, the new RC30 is a sleek model constructed from a nylon base with shaggy suede overlays, a perfect combination for Summer. Initially reported as a collaboration with multimedia artist Donald Glover, who previously worked with adidas on his signature footwear, the blog posts and specifically the Net-a-Porter editorial naming them as a DG project have since been scrubbed from the internet. While we would be interested in seeing Glover team up with New Balance, the ‘Sea Salt’ and ‘Golden Hour’ colorways seen here have no branding or marking that would indicate as much.
NEW BALANCE RC30 RELEASE INFORMATION
New Balance’s upcoming RC30 has not yet been scheduled for release, though they are expected to launch sometime in the coming weeks. Originally thought to be a collaboration with Donald Glover, the new silhouette will likely be avialable from both NB and select retailers, with a price tag somewhere in the $120+ range. UPDATE 7/7/22: The New Balance RC30 has officially been unveiled, and its debut colorways are, in fact, designed in collaboration with Donald Glover. Described as “no loud colors or branding, just classic, easy-to-wear colorways of a new silhouette that fit Donald’s style”, the new RC will debut first from the Market by Gilga website tomorrow, July 8th. This will be followed by a release from New Balance and select retailers later this month, on July 18th, 2022.
