New Balance’s annual Grey Day celebration has started a little early this year. After unveiling their full lineup of styles for the annual grey collection, releases began this morning, and will drop every week until the end of May.
New Balance’s Grey Days celebration is here. The brand’s unofficial holiday started off as a single annual date in May, celebrating their signature soft grey hue. Much like Nike’s Air Max Day, Grey Day has now expanded to become a month-long celebration of all things NB grey. The signature look was first introduced in the ’80s with the 990, and is now a standard look for every single shoe the Boston brand releases, particularly lifestyle models. This year’s celebration kicked off today, with new releases lined up every week until the end of May.
The first drop of Grey Days 2026 is already available straight from New Balance. The 204L marks the beginning of this year’s launches, dressed in shades of, you guessed it, grey. Oh, and some metallic silver to round things out. Next week’s drop is the Abzorb 2010 runner, last year’s new lifestyle shoe, cast in darker tones but still adding a hefty dose of metallic silver. The mid-May release will feature two sneakers, the Abzorb 2000 and the new 5030 model, the former bearing darker grey shades and the latter featuring a predominantly silver upper. Next is the new 1890 runner as a standalone drop on May 22nd, dressed in a stunning palette of classic grey tones with just a hint of red for an accent. The celebration will be capped off with skate shoe releases from the Numeric family. These pairs feature less traditional shades of grey, opting for warmer tones with brown accents. Each pair also sports a vivid Island Blue accent hidden somewhere around the silhouette.
