New Balance is gearing up to introduce the 997R this year, a modified version of their iconic running shoe from 1991. This week, we got an early look at seven of the initial colorways, expected to drop this Fall.

In 1991, New Balance introduced the 997, a premier running shoe that debuted new technologies for the brand. The molded midsole featured a combination of ENCAP and C-CAP cushioning, providing maximum stability and flexibility for long runs. Since then, the model has become an icon in the NB offerings, returning regularly as one of their premier lifestyle shoes. Now, New Balance is preparing an upgraded version of the silhouette for the modern day, the 997R. After the model first surfaced earlier this season, we got an early look at seven colorways coming for the shoes debut. First up, two premium versions crafted with leather accents come in their classic grey and black color schemes. Then, five more pairs feature simple suede uppers and pastel tones in green, blue, red, yellow, and white.
