New Balance’s 997H silhouette has been on the back burner this year after coming out of the gates hot in its 2019 debut. Now, the Boston brand is taking inspiration from classic American workwear for a fresh new colorway.

New Balance’s 997H first released in 2019, bringing the beloved 997 running shoe into the modern day through a more current interpretation of the classic shoe. Since then, the 997H has become a fan favorite, largely due to the shoe’s ability to modernize the fan-favorite 997 without compromising its timeless style. Now, New Balance has revived the 997H after a short hiatus, refreshing the silhouette in new colorways, hot on the heels of a special project J. Crew, casting the shoe in outdoor-inspired looks. This week, old school American workwear provides the inspiration for a new color scheme, splitting the 997H into a tritone look. The shoe begins with a red mesh base layer for the toe box while the heels come in navy blue. The midfoot sections are layered with a dusty blue shade and brown suede on top, while grey suede heel counters round out the new look.
