The New Balance 992 will continue to debut in new colorways throughout the year, with releases starting to heat up for the Summer. This week, we have a first look at a new “What The” colorway, combining several color schemes already released this year.

New Balance’s 992 is going to be everywhere in 2020, and somehow we still want more. Originally released in 2006, the 992 was specifically built to celebrate the Boston brand’s 100th anniversary, building upon the famous legacy of the fan-favorite 99X franchise. The shoe was a massive success, and now, it is back for its first retro release since its debut 14 years ago. And, to celebrate accordingly, New Balance is coming out with all kinds of collaborations and colorways, from Ronnie Fieg and WTAPS releases to the “Gold” and “Plaid” looks we saw yesterday. Today, we have yet another first look at an upcoming 992, this time in what can only be described as a “What The” color scheme. The look begins with a black mesh base layer with minimal black suede overlays. Next, bright teal suede is added to the mudguard, heel, and quarter panels as the main color. Then, hot pink lacing overlays and orange ‘N’ logos are added, while a blue tongue, orange heel counter, and neon green sole inserts complete the “What The” 992.
