The New Balance 992 had an incredible year in 2020, officially returning for the first time since its 2006 debut. Released in dozens of colorways, and collaborations, the 992 is sticking around for 2021, starting off with a new “purple/grey” colorway, coming soon.
New Balance is not slowing down their 992 releases even for a moment in 2020. With so many colorways and drops already under their belt over the past two years, it can be hard to imagine what might come next. Luckily, we don’t have to, as New Balance unveiled its latest release this week, dousing the 992 in regal purple tones set to release exclusively from German retailer Asphalt Gold next week. Following the same color blocking as other tonal releases, this standard-issue 992’s innermost and outermost layers take on the namesake purple tone, while accents in grey standout from between the two main layers. New Balance’s ‘N’ logo stands out in reflective 3M silver on either side, while a white midsole and laces complete the look.

The latest colorway of New Balance’s 992 to surface online been officially scheduled for release next week, on January 13th, 2021, exclusively from German retailer AsphaltGold. The regal purple and grey color scheme will likely release around the globe with the usual price tag of $200 shortly afterward.
