New Balance’s 991 silhouette has been popping up in plenty of new colorways this year, in celebration of the silhouette’s 20th anniversary. Today, we are taking a closer look at the brand’s classic Triple White colorway, coming soon.

The New Balance 991 turned twenty years old in 2021, a celebratory occasion for the Boston brand and the entire 990X family of footwear. Originally introduced in 2001 as the evolutionary next step for the beloved suite of silhouettes, and marking the beginning of the 990X branding era, the 991 remodeled the mesh and pigskin suede upper with smooth, sweeping lines and curves as well as a brand new midsole that highlighted the shoe’s ABZORB cushioning underneath with visible pockets. This week, the fan-favorite runner made a quiet debut in a fresh color scheme, casting the entirety of the shoe in a crisp white tone, adding tiny metallic hits on the New Balance ‘N’ logos.
