New Balance is officially celebrating its long-standing 99x series this year, releasing limited-edition colorways of each major version leading up to the debut of the 990v6. For now, check out the 990 Version 4, coming next week.

New Balance’s 99x series has seen a surge in popularity in recent years, driving New Balance to produce more and more pairs of the most popular versions. This season, the Boston brand has been releasing a limited-edition series, celebrating each entry in the 990 family tree, rehashing each shoe in the classic New Balance grey color scheme as we inch closer to the debut of the 990v6 in 2022. Today, New Balance unveiled the next entry in the series, the 990v4, which releases next week. Similar to the Version Series previous entries, this pair features a near uniform grey color from mesh base to suede outer layers, with slightly darker grey mid layers peeking out from underneath. Finally, a bright red Version 4 tag completes the look.
