New Balance retros have been taking the sneaker world by storm the past few years, and 2020 is no different. Towards the end of 2019, the Boston brand introduced the 860v2, a modern update to a ’90s classic. Now, the 860v2 is back in all-new colorways for 2020.

Back in the 1990s, New Balance was at the top of their game in the running category. The 99x series was everywhere, and the 850 was shifting the idea of what New Balance footwear could look like. Then came the 860. Built to be lightweight, agile, and stable, the new silhouette was a sleek and streamlined departure from some of the Boston-based brand’s previous endeavors. Featuring an airy mesh upper and slim taped overlays, the 860 quickly became a favorite among runners. Now, more than 20 years after its original release, New Balance is releaseing a proper follow-up to the pivotal runner. Titled the 860v2, the new version picks up right where the old left off, except this time with a new purpose. Instead of being built for running, the 860v2 is instead intended for general, all-day wear no matter the schedule.
