New Balance’s 650 high-top basketball shoe was revived in collaboration with Aimé Leon Dore last year. Finally, after a year-long wait, the brand is releasing standard-issue red & blue color schemes this week.

When Aimé Leon Dore first helped revive New Balance’s 550 basketball trainer in 2020, they took the sneaker world by storm. Fast forward a year, and they had another hit on their hands with the high-top version, the 650. Since last Summer, the silhouette has gone quiet, only for New Balance to unveil their first in-line colorways of the model this week. Arriving in team red & team blue colorways, the pairs match the original standard-issue release of the 550, only with a higher cut collar. This means a white leather base for most of the uppers, accompanied by accent colors making up the mesh collar, New Balance and 650 branding, as well as a few more splashes of color for the outsoles and heel counters.
