New Balance’s retro 580 is slowly stacking up excellent color schemes, with this week bringing us an early look at a new ‘Castlerock’ grey pair, coming soon.
In 1996, New Balance released the 580, a new distance running shoe that paired their signature layered uppers with a chunky midsole. Now, they have revived the design, bringing the 580 into the modern day and releasing a number of exciting new color schemes along the way. This week, the 580 surfaced in their ‘Castlerock’ grey palette, and is expected to release sometime this season. The new pair begins with an off-white mesh base layer, adding the namesake warm grey shade to the suede overlays. The TPU plastic support piece on the sides comes in a cream shade, while splashes of navy blue peak out from the midfoot and on the midsole.
