new balance 57/40New Balance has given their 57/40 silhouette an upgrade for the Winter season, applying waterproof Gore-Tex lining to the silhouette and dressing it in Caramel & Black color schemes.

The New Balance 57/40 has taken a backseat in releases this year, thanks in part to a stellar lineup of other hot new silhouettes from the Boston brand like the 2002R and the 1906R. However, the chunky hybrid silhouette still has a strong following across the world, leading NB to add a new Gore-Tex edition to this year’s Winter offerings. Already available overseas, this new version casts the uppers in tonal color schemes, adding a waterproof Gore-Tex membrane to the inner layers. Expected to arrive globally in the coming weeks, color options include a beautiful caramel brown style with cream white accents for the inner lining and soles, as well as a jet black version with a hint of grey added.

New Balance’s Gore-Tex upgrade for the 57/40 releases via the brand’s Japanese website this week, with a global release expected tin the near future, though no date has been given yet. Available in Black and Caramel colors, pairs come with a price tag of approximately $175.
