The New Balance 550 basketball sneaker is slowly arriving in new colorways, and if the brand’s latest leaks are any indication, the retro model is here to stay. Today, we have an early look at a new “Team Navy” color scheme, dropping next week.
New Balance’s retro basketball oxford, otherwise known as the 550, has released in a flurry of in-line colorways over the past few months, and it appears NB is only getting started with this revived silhouette. The mainstay color blocking for the silhouette mixes white leather with perforated overlays and suede mudguards, leaving a little room in various parts of the shoe to add colorful accents. Today, we have an early look at a new addition to this growing range of colorways, dressing the 550 up in an smooth shade of Team Navy, which appears on the 550’s quarter panel ‘N’ logos, tongue branding, 550 printing, and outsole as well as other small accents.

New Balance’s latest standard-issue colorways of the retro 550 basketball shoe have been slated to drop later this month, on June 24th, 2021. Joining the upcoming “Forest Green” and Purple iterations in shades of white and grey with subtle navy blue accents, this pair retain the usual price tag of $120, releasing from both New Balance and select retailers.
