The New Balance 550 continues to launch in new colorways, feeding the massive demand for the vintage basketball oxford. This week, we have our first look at a new Steel Grey style, coming soon.

What can we say about the New Balance 550 that hasn’t already been said. Originally released in 1989 as a low-top basketball ‘oxford’, the retro style was revived in 2020, debuting through an immensely popular collaboration with Aimé Leon Dore. Since then, the 550 has gone on to become one of the most popular lifestyle sneakers on the market, and releases regularly in both standard-issue colors and limited-edition collaborations. This week, another in-line style has popped up online, showing off a simple and reserved ‘Steel Grey’ look set to arrive in the near future. Following the color blocking of past releases, this pair features a largely white leather base for the shoe’s upper, adding splashes of the Steel Grey shade to the New Balance ‘N’ logos, ankle padding, and outsole.
