New Balance has kept the 550 fresh over the last four years since its reintroduction to their catalog, routinely dropping new colors and styles. This week, the “Monochrome” pack for Summer has begun to drop from select retailers.

New Balance’s foray into retro basketball shoes has paid off immensely over the last few years. In 2020, they revived the ’80s 550 model with help from Aimé Leon Dore, a collaboration that sent the silhouette’s popularity into the stratosphere, and has yet to come down. In the four years since, dozens, if not hundreds of new colors and collaborations have hit the market, yet NB still manages to keep things feeling fresh. This week, a “Monochrome” pack has begun to land on store shelves, dressing the silhouette in three tonal colors. The options include the “Concrete” grey pair, a soft pink “Rosewood” style, and finally a pastel “Deep Lichen” green look.

New Balance’s latest batch of colorways for the 550 has not been officially announced for release yet, though some retailers have pairs available to order and others are scheduled to release their stock on May 1st, 2024. Arriving in three tonal colorways, Rosewood, Concrete, and Deep Lichen, pairs come with a price tag of $120. Check out the official images below for a better look at all three, and stay tuned to JustFreshKicks for more sneaker release news.
