New Balance’s retro 550 basketball oxford continues to arrive in new colorways this month, giving fans a better shot at getting their hands on a pair nearly a year after its reintroduction. Check out the fresh colorways in yellow, burgundy, and black, coming soon.

New Balance continues to unveil new colorways of the vintage 550 sneaker, adding onto the already mountainous hype the silhouette has created in the past year. The 550, a low-top leather basketball shoe from the late ’80s, first made its return last year, in collaboration with New York’s Aimé Leon Dore. While new colorways were hard to come by for many months afterward, likely due to COVID-related shipping delays, New Balance finally seems to be on top of things, releasing fresh versions on a seemingly monthly basis so far in 2021. This week, we have a closer look at the brand’s three latest iterations to surface on their release calendar, casting the shoe in a white leather “Sea Salt” base before adding accent colors in your choice of Varsity Gold, Burgundy, and plain Black.

New Balance’s latest standard-issue colorways of the retro 550 basketball shoe have been slated to drop later this week, on May 7th, 2021. Available in your choice of Varsity Gold, Burgundy, or Black, each set against a ‘Sea Salt’ backdrop, these pairs retain the usual price tag of $120, releasing from both New Balance and select retailers.
