New Balance’s 550 basketball shoe first resurfaced earlier this year in collaboration with NYC’s Aimé Leon Dore, and was a smash hit. Now, the ‘basketball oxford’ is here to stay, releasing in standard-issue colorways, like Forest Green, later this month.

New Balance’s retro basketball oxford, otherwise known as the 550, has released in a flurry of in-line colorways over the past few months, and it appears NB is only getting started with this revived silhouette. The mainstay color blocking for the silhouette mixes white leather with perforated overlays and suede mudguards, leaving a little room in various parts of the shoe to add colorful accents. Today, we have an early look at a new addition to this growing range of colorways, dressing the 550 up in an eye-catching shade of Forest Green.

New Balance’s latest standard-issue colorways of the retro 550 basketball shoe have been slated to drop later this week, on May 7th, 2021. Arriving in shades of white and grey with bold purple accents, this pair retain the usual price tag of $120, releasing from both New Balance and select retailers.
