New Balance is joining the sustainability train this month. Earlier today, the brand showed off a new color scheme of their fan-favorite 327 silhouette, this time sporting “Undyed” uppers to both highlight the materials used and conserve water and energy.

New Balance’s 327 silhouette is the latest in a line of excellent lifestyle models from the Boston-based brand in recent years, debuted back in April before slowly rolling out in a steady lineup of new colorways ever since. This week, New Balance announced another upcoming release of the 327, this time stepping away from the colorful blocking they have been focusing on for a more environmentally-friendly approach. Featuring an entirely “Undyed” upper, this 327 shows off the beauty of its canvas and suede upper in their natural state, untouched by any pigments or dyes to preserve its natural tones. The result is a beautiful tonal look, showing off a cream white tone for the canvas base layer and reinforcing it with light grey pigskin suede. In addition to creating a nice colorway, not dyeing these materials also saves a significant amount of both water and energy that go into the usual process of changing colors just for a new sneaker release.
