The return of New Balance’s 2002R runner from the turn of the century has been a massive hit for the Boston brand so far this year, a revival that kicked off late in 2020 with a string of limited brand collaborations. Now, the Boston-based brand is filling its shelves with new colorways of the 2002R, including a triple-black makeup that surfaced on the New Balance website earlier this week. This iteration, built from a mix of suede and soft leather, mixes black with grey mid-layers for a stealthy, sophisticated look for the retro runner. The signature New Balance ‘N’ logo has been embroidered for this edition, while the 2002R branding stands out on the lateral sides in green and yellow stitching.

New Balance’s new triple-black color scheme of the retro 2002R runner released earlier this week and is still readily available directly from New Balance’s own website. The sleek new color scheme, constructed from suede, comes with a price tag of $140, and will likely launch from select NB retailers in the coming weeks.
