The New Balance 2002R is returning with a special new twist this month, with the first in-house limited-edition models. Titled the “Protection” Pack, the release features three pairs with rough edges for a unique new look.

New Balance’s 2002R is taking the sneaker world by storm right now, thanks to an excellent debut featuring high-profile collaborations and numerous excellent in-line color options. Now, the Boston brand is trying something new with the 2002, deconstructing the silhouette’s layered upper for a new special-edition version titled the “Protection” pack. The new look reworks the 2002R’s series of suede overlays, adding rough-cut edges to each one, giving the shoes the appearance of being torn apart or roughed up a bit. Additionally, the “Protection” pack features three colorway, triple white, triple black, and a tonal grey pair, mixing shades of the neutral color for an enticing look.
