New Balance’s immensely popular 2002R continues to shine in new colorways on a regular basis. For the upcoming Fall/Winter season, NB is switching things up, adding a waterproof Gore-Tex layer to the sleek runner, coming soon.

With dozens of iterations of the New Balance 2002R out on the market, from limited-edition collaborations to excellent in-line releases, NB is ready to shake things up with the popular runner. Rereleased in 2021, the sleek silhouette has largely kept its shape and materials the same since its return to the brand’s lineup, but this season, they are getting a new level of protection in the form of a Gore-Tex waterproof addition. The first colorways of the upcoming pairs have surfaced overseas, giving us a good look at two styles of the new design. The first is cast in dark grey tones, mixed with rust-colored mid layers and a blackened midsole, while the second is much lighter, featuring NB’s signature light grey tone with hints of blue scattered throughout.
