Blue Suede shoes are an essential in the world of footwear, popularized by the Elvis Presley song in the 1950s. Now, New Balance is dropping their own spin on the classic look, in the form of the 2002R.

New Balance’s 2002R has become a mainstay in the brand’s releases, capitalizing on the wave of retro popularity. The layered silhouette has released in dozens of color schemes over the last two years, from high-profile collaborations to much simpler looks, like the new ‘Blue Suede’ version arriving later this Summer. As you might be able to guess, this is somewhat of a nod to the hit song ‘Blue Suede Shoes’, popularized by Elvis Presley in the 1950s. The look features a uniform blue shade across most of the upper, broken up by a grey heel counter and inner lining, as well as metallic silver ‘N’ logos and heel tabs.
