New Balance 1906U Bone

New Balance is adding the 1906U to their arsenal next Spring, giving us another version of the retro runner with a change in materials.

Last year, New Balance introduced the 1906 into their arsenal. Deployed in two variations, the 1906R and the 1906D, the latter borrowed the frayed edges from their popular ‘Protection’ series of sneakers to give the model a slight twist. Now, we have an early look at another altered version of the retro-styled runner, the 1906U, coming in Spring 2024. Once again, this pair uses changes in materials as its defining trait, swapping out the usual mesh base layer for a new diamond-gridded ripstop element. The overlays are still present in leather and synthetic materials, with the same nylon webbing material used for the ‘N’ logos. Seen here in a ‘Bone’ white color scheme, this pair adds pastel accents in blue, green, pink, and yellow to the heel counter and midsoles.

New Balance next iteration of the 1906, the 1906U, has not been announced for release yet, and will likely not debut until sometime in Spring 2024. Seen here in a muted ‘Bone’ white colorway with multicolor accents, pairs will be available from the brand’s website and select retailers for an estimated $150.
