Asics’ GEL sneakers have dominated the brand’s releases over the past year, thanks to a resurgence in the vintage technology’s popularity. Now, Asics is steadily releasing new colorways with updated materials to keep up with the growing demand. This month, Japanese womenswear MOUSSY is releasing their unique take on the classic runner, upgrading the GEL-Kayano 5 OG with luxurious new materials. Decked out in an all-black colorway, the MOUSSY Kayano 5 begins with a dense mesh base layer, reinforced by premium leather mid-layers and Asics vector logos. The toebox and quarter panel shanks come in rough black suede, which stretches to the heel of the shoe. 3M accents can be found scattered between the laces, tongue, and heel layering.

Japanese womenswear brand MOUSSY has announced that their take on the Asics GEL-Kayano 5 OG will release next month, on September 4th, 2020. The blacked-out, 3M-lined colorway will be available from select retailers across Japan like Shel’tter, with a retail price of approximately $146.
