Star Wars is back on the big screen this month, for the first time in seven years. Disney has rolled out tons of merch to celebrate The Mandalorian & Grogu, now including a signature pair of adidas’ EVO SL ATR, available now.
Star Wars has always been about movie magic. Though the franchise has spawned a dozen or so TV shows, plenty of excellent video games, and a sprawling catalog of books and comics, the core of what makes Star Wars special is their presence on silver screens. The last time we had a theatrical release was 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker, so we are long overdue for some space-faring action on a gigantic screen. Nothing else to add there, it happened, and we are moving on. When the Disney+ streaming service launched that same year, the flagship title was The Mandalorian, Jon Favreau’s western-inspired story inside the greater galactic universe. Mando and his ultra-cute companion Grogu became a pop culture phenomenon, leading to two-and-a-half excellent seasons of television, and soon, their first film.
Enter adidas. The Three Stripes has been making Star Wars sneakers since their first project in 2010, which packaged shoes like action figures, and is regarded (by me) as one of the best crossover marketing moments of the century. Revived in 2019, the Star Wars/adidas partnership has launched plenty of new character-themed releases since then, and has added a special new one for Mando & Grogu this week. The EVO SL’s all-terrain variant is the canvas for this release arriving dressed in a palette of grey and silver metallic tones to mimic Mando’s signature beskar armor. Small accents in brown and Linen Green act as nods to our favorite little guy, Grogu.

The latest Star Wars-themed sneaker from adidas has already release, dropping yesterday on May 15th, 2026. This pair celebrates the the titular duo from the upcoming film The Mandolorian and Grogu, in theaters next week. adidas’ EVO SL ATR running shoe is the canvas for this special project, cast in silver metallic tones to mimic Mando’s beskar armor.
