Following Virgil Abloh’s announcement that there will be nine Regional Exclusive Louis Vuitton LV 408 Trainer Hi silhouettes dropping soon, we get a great on-foot look at the New York and Chicago pair.

Virgils mission of creating luxury attire that holds street-wear aesthetics at it’s core is becoming clearer and clearer. As the LV 408 Trainer Hi bridges the gap between the two and creates a luxurious looking sneaker that you can dress up or down. While there has been images that surfaced of the Translucent pair that quickly stole the spot light, Virgil and Louis Vuitton have bigger work ahead of them as nine different colorways are set to release exclusively in different places of the world that honor the city they’re dropping in. The nine cities are: New York, Chicago, Paris, Milan, London, Dubai, Seoul, Shanghai and Tokyo.

We just got a detailed look at the two pairs that will arrive here in America, the New York and Chicago iterations. While the leather on the high-top sneaker takes on grey paneling and black overlays on each pair, different laces make all the difference as a shout out to the city. Although not official, the New York pair features blue laces while the Chicago pair is tied down with a bright orange set, likely nods to the Yankees and Bears. Each arrives with the classic LV monogram hang-tag that adds just a but of prestige flair while a white branded midsole finishes off the elegant design.
