New Balance and Levi’s last teamed up earlier this season to deliver a trio of colorways of NB’s extremely popular 327. Now, the two are pivoting to the Boston brand’s other fan-favorite model of 2020, the 992.

The New Balance 992 first made its debut fourteen years ago in 2006, in celebration of 100 years of NB and a follow up to the brand’s most popular running model at the time. Fast forward just under 15 years, and the 992 has grown to become one of the most beloved silhouettes in the Boston brand’s arsenal, only returning in official retro form for the very first time this year. Now, the 992 releases regularly, with new colorways and limited-edition collaborations dropping on a monthly basis. This week, we have an early look at another upcoming project, which sees New Balance reuniting with Levi’s Denim for their take on the 992. The look begins with a plain grey denim base layer before the 992’s usual series of overlays are added in varying shades of grey suede. The result is akin to one of NB’s classic grey color schemes, albeit lighter in tone and featuring an eye-catching red Levi’s on the lateral sides of each shoe, while bold dual-branded footbeds complete the project.

The latest project from New Balance and denim giant Levi’s has not yet been announced for release, though they are expected to land on shelves sometime in the coming weeks. The smooth grey colorway of the 992 will likely come with an elevated retail price of $200 or more, releasing from both partners as well as select New Balance retailers.
