Vans’ classic Half Cab skate shoe has been stacking up special collaborations this year for its thirtieth anniversary, most recently teaming up with NYC’s Labor Skate Shop for a black and green, suede and reptile leather edition.

Vans first introduced their now-legendary Half Cab in 1992, then released as the second signature model from pro skater Steve Caballero. The first silhouette, now known as the Full Cab, was being modified by the skaters of the time, cutting off the upper portions of the ankle to provide more flexibility to perform difficult flip tricks. Celebrating thirty years of DIY innovation this year, Vans has teamed up with a number of local skate shops for special releases of the beloved model. This week, NYC’s Labor Skate Shop is ready to drop their version of the mid-cut silhouette, mixing things up with premium materials across the upper. The shoe’s underlays are constructed from black reptile leather, while dark green suede overlays are applied to the toes, midfeet, and heels. Finally, mixed green and yellow laces complete the look, while Vans’ PopCush insoles add extra comfort.
