Back in 2020, New Balance tapped a wide range of collaborators to help reintroduce the 2002R to their arsenal through three-way projects. Now, Invincible and N. HOOLYWOOD are back with the GTX edition of the 2002R.

New Balance’s revival of the 2002R has been a strong piece of their lifestyle offerings over the past two years. When the silhouette first emerged in 2020, New Balance worked with a number of high-profile collaborators, teaming up them up in pairs to craft unique editions of the retro runner. One of these pairs was Taiwan’s Invincible and Japan’s N. HOOLYWOOD, who have teamed up once again, this time to work on the Gore-Tex version of the 2002R. Their latest work begins with a navy blue mesh base layer for the shoe, adding mixed layers of leather and suede in matching navy tones. Pale grey mid layers peek out from underneath, matching the chunky laces. The signature ‘N’ logos come in a carbon fiber-like print, while the tongue branding has been reworked to resemble a sample tag.
