Back in 2020, New Balance tapped a wide range of collaborators to help reintroduce the 2002R to their arsenal through three-way projects. Now, Invincible and N. HOOLYWOOD are back their ‘Grey Swan’ edition of the 1906R, dropping next week.
New Balance has been going strong with Taiwan’s Invincible boutique and Japanese label N. HOOLYWOOD since the three first teamed up for a collaboration on the 2002R in 2020. Since then, we’ve seen several editions of the retro 2002 silhouette from the partners, and this week, they unveiled their next project, the ‘Grey Swan’ 1906R. Taking on the Boston footwear brand’s latest introduction to their lifestyle lineup, this 1906R gets its name from its greyscale color scheme, which replaces some of the shoe’s synthetic overlays with soft suede for a change in texture. Pitting the runner in light, medium, and dark grey tones, white laces and two-toned midsole round out the neutral palette, while flashes of orange on the outsole and rear heel tabs complete the look.

The latest three-way release from Invincible, N. HOOLYWOOD, and New Balance, featuring the 1906R, is currently up for raffle via Invincible’s website, with winners notified on October 8th. Pairs of the ‘Grey Swan’ look will come with a price tag of approximately $180, and may see a wider release in the weeks to come.
