Converse has had a monumental amount of success in their recent collaborations, from Chinatown Market & Josh Vides’ unique takes to Neighborhood’s motorcycle-inspired collection. Now, Ibn Jasper is set to give his take on the legendary Pro Model this month.
Ibn Jasper’s influence over the sneaker and streetwear communities has been undeniable for the past decade, and the same can be said from the entire cohort of Kanye West’s entourage. This week, the man formerly known as Ye’s barber has announced a new upcoming project with Converse, which sees the designer reworking the Pro Leather in a luxurious all-white makeup. The new footwear and subsequent collection are inspired by a moment from Jasper’s life, back in the 80s when he watched Dr. J arrive at an arena dripped in an all-white outfit. Jasper says that Erving looked as though he just stepped off of a runway, which inspired him to transform the entire vibe of the outfit into a lifestyle project. The result is am ultra-luxurious looking Converse Pro Leather with zip-up lacing, creamy suede accents, and plush rose-colored leather lining the inside.

Ibn Jasper’s unique take on the Converse Pro Leather has been scheduled to release later this month, on September 26th, 2019. The special edition release will carry a surprising retail price of just $120, launching from both Converse and select retailers.
