Converse’s Chuck Taylor has always been known as a versatile lifestyle model, but this month, Canada’s HAVEN is set to deliver a GORE-TEX-clad version ripe for the upcoming wet seasons and decked out with technical details.
Converse’s collaborations have seemingly increased tenfold in recent years, coinciding with the return of the always-essential Chuck Taylor as one of the world’s most popular lifestyle shoes. Among these collaborations, Converse has been taking the time to seek out and work with new partners, whether they are new brands, or established retailers like Canada’s HAVEN, who takes on the Chuck 70 for their inaugural partnership this week. The project takes on the challenge of providing a durable version of the classic Chuck Taylor that can survive Canadian winters, which means only one thing: Gore-Tex. Constructed using a suede upper, these Chucks feature a Gore-Tex inner membrane to keep your feet dry and water out in any conditions, even adding leather overlays to the silhouette for added support and protection. Sticking to their guns, the HAVEN Chuck 70’s come in your choice of either black or olive green, both paired with a plain white midsole.
HAVEN X CONVERSE CHUCK 70 RELEASE INFORMATION
The debut project from Canadian retailer HAVEN and Converse, featuring a Gore-Tex-clad edition of the Chuck 70, has been scheduled to release later this week, on November 14th, 2020. The special-edition water-repellant pair will be available exclusively from the northern retailer, with a price tag of approximately $140 for each color scheme.
