Japanese running brand ASICS is uniting with Brazilian sneaker store Guadalupe this month, celebrating their ten-year anniversary with a new ‘Tropicália’-themed pair of the GEL-Lyte III, dropping this week.

ASICS stable of collaborators is expanding this month, seeing the Japanese running brand team-up with Brazilian sneaker retailer Guadalupe for a new release. Celebrating the store’s ten year anniversary, the two are honoring the Tropicália movement of the 1960s, an important artistic shift that amalgamated the Brazilian genres and art styles. For this release, the GEL-Lyte III acts as the canvas, taking on a colorful look for the project. The shoes begin with a black suede base layer, mixing in a faded green tone for the quarter panels. The same green tone makes up the shanks and mudguards, featuring patterns inspired by Tropicália. Light blue heel sections add more color to the design, while gold and red accents complete the look.
