Asics and Germany’s GmbH are linking up for another project, as teased by the fashion label’s lead designer Serhat Isik. Check out the eye-catching Gel Kayano 5 360, which will potentially release sometime next year.
GmbH is not necessarily a household name in the United States, though their new project with Asics will certainly help. Founded in Berlin, Germany several years ago, the idea of the brand is displayed quite prominently in its name, though you wouldn’t immediately know it. GmbH is more commonly known in their country as the acronym for “Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung” which basically means company or corporation in German. Under the semi monotonous name, they’ve produced a staggering body of work, centered largely on elevated basics through unique cuts or technical aspects. Now, for the second time this year, the German fashion brand is working on a new project with one of Europe’s favorite running brands, Asics.
The next project from GmbH and Asics focuses on the Gel Kayano 5 360, the modern update to the Gel Kayano 5, the centerpiece of the first collaboration. This time around, designer Serhat Isik has opted for something a little different from the monotone colorways from before, going for a high contrast look. The upper of this Gel Kayano 5 360 is blanketed in plain olive, and constructed from mesh, patent leather, and a stiff heat-applied rubber-like material. The reconstructed upper rests on top of a full-length Gel midsole that comes in hot pink all the way through.
