Asics has crafted a new silhouette for their SportStyle lineup this season, with the shoe likely to make its in-line debut in 2025. To help launch the new GEL-K1011, they’ve tapped Gallery Dept. for a three-pack of colorways.
Los Angeles-based brand Gallery Dept. has skyrocketed through the ranks of streetwear over the last few years, becoming one of the most popular apparel companies in the scene. Founded by Josué Thomas, the unisex label strives to “re-purpose and re-image that which inspires us into something new”. Their collaborations often take the form of adding to a piece after it has already been made, like their Asics GT-2160 release from last year.
This week, Gallery has unveiled their latest project with Asics, which will introduce a brand new silhouette; the GEL-K1011. The model appears similar to other recent SportStyle models like the NYC, with some changes in paneling and a new midsole unit. Three colors have been created in partnership with Gallery Dept., one in Khaki green with Canyon brown accents, a colorful white style with blue, red, and yellow, and finally an “all black” pair. This last pair features a painted upper that will likely wear away with time, and fetches a slightly higher price tag than its counterparts.
GALLERY DEPT. X ASICS GEL-K1011 PACK RELEASE INFORMATION
The latest collaboration between Los Angeles’ Gallery Dept. and Asics has been scheduled to release this weekend, on December 7th, 2024. The brand is currently accepting raffle submissions through EQL via their website, with price tags of $295 for the Khaki and White colors, and $325 for the painted black pair.
