DTLR Villa and New Balance are back. Hot off the release of their popular “Greek Gods”-themed pack back in April, the two are back to work on the fan-favorite 990v5, which arrives in a bright new “American Muscle” color scheme.
The New Balance 990v5 has been a smash hit since it debuted back in 2017, building on the already strong legacy of the 990 franchise that started back in 1982. In the three years since its release, the 990v5 has dropped in dozens of colorways, from New Balance’s standard grey to some wild new color combinations, as well as an assortment of special collaborative projects. The latest of these collaborations sees New Balance reuniting with Washington DC’s DTLR Villa, for their second iteration of the 990v5. Inspired heavily by “American Muscle” cars, the DTLR 990v5 begins with a solid grey mesh base layer, before bright blue suede overlays are added to the quarter panels. Other colorful accents include sections in gradients, which start ion a golden yellow before turning quickly into hot-rod red, largely seen on the midsole as well as ‘N’ logos on either side of the shoe.

Exclusive to DTLR, this eye-catching colorway of the fan-favorite 990v5 will be available in full-family sizing, with retail prices topping out at $175 for the men’s sizing.
