The New Balance 992 is back for 2020, and starting off the year strong. After an initial released in “Crystal White” flew off of Kith’s shelves, Chicago’s JoeFreshGoods has unveiled his Don’t Be Mad x New Balance 992, dropping next month.

New Balance is starting 2020 off right, collaborating on a new project with Chicago’s JoeFreshGoods. The designer, known for his work with some of the most famous sneaker and streetwear brands in the world, has been in a “footwear free agency” for the last few months, having publicly discussed some of his apprehensions when starting a new project with a triple-A brand. Now, it appears the Illinois-native has settled down, as he took to Instagram earlier this week to show off the new Don’t Be Mad x New Balance 992 “Anatomy of a Heart”.

Damn, we love the 992. New Balance’s third entry in the fan-favorite 99x series is back this year, and JoeFreshGoods’ take on the sleek vintage runner is the perfect way to start. Releasing on Valentine’s Day, the “Anatomy of a Heart” colorway takes inspiration from the various parts of a human heart, applying the varying shades of red, maroon, and tan across the 992s layer pigskin suede and mesh upper. Don’t Be Mad branding on the tongues and heels completes the look.

Joe’s “Anatomy of a Heart” color scheme will likely retail above the 992’s standard $200 price tag, and launch from both New Balance and select retailers.
