New Balance has found a new collaborative partner in Danielle Cathari, the Amsterdam-based designer and her eponymous brand. Their first release will feature the 991v2 in a “Matcha” color scheme.

Designer Danielle Cathari has teased her debut project with New Balance, teaming up her Amsterdam-based eponymous label with the famed Boston footwear makers. This marks the first footwear collaboration in the world of sneakers for DC, taking on NB’s recent 991v2 for the project. The silhouette comes with a “Matcha”-themed color scheme, which begins with a deep brown shade for the shoe’s mesh base layers. Grey metallic leather mid layers are added, sandwiched underneath the vibrant green suede outer panels. The shoes are made in New Balance’s England manufacturing facility, and come with Made in England branding.

The debut release from New Balance and fashion label Danielle Cathari is scheduled to release this week, on February 9th, 2024. The “Matcha” green and brown colorway of the 991v2 will be available from the brand’s website for $250, with a possible global release from NB to follow.
