The Converse SKidgrip is back. Revived earlier this year by Jerry Lorenzo and his Fear of God ESSENTIALS brand, the vintage high-top trainer takes on two military green-inspired colorways, launching this week.

You would never know it, but the Converse Skidgrip silhouette is 110 years old in 2020. Debuted in 1910, then known as the Circular Vamp Oxford, or CVO for short was a relatively simple sneaker, made from suede and mounted on a super-grippy rubber outsole. The Skidgrip returned unexpectedly this year, after a few years of hiding in the back of Converse’s vaults. The style was selected by Jerry Lorenzo, and adopted for his extensive Fear of God ESSENTIALS line. Now, the sleek silhouette is back in new colorways with some military inspiration. Constructed from a mix of canvas and suede and launching in both high and low variations, the Skidgrip is back this month in “Oil Green” colorways, utilizing the shoe’s bold color blocking to add accents in tan and finishing off both looks with camo-printed insoles.
