Originally released in 1976, the Converse Pro Leather has remained one of the most legendary basketball shoes of all time. This week, the brand is celebrating the storied silhouette with the new “Raise Your Game” pack.
The Converse Pro Leather has been nothing short of instrumental in basketball history. Worn by Julius “Dr. J” Irving throughout the 70s and 80s, the timeless silhouette was the pinnacle of on-court performance at the time of its debut. Since then, the Pro Leather has transitioned into a lifestyle model, as many sneakers do as they age, featured among special releases like last month’s punk-inspired Pleasures collaboration. Now, the Boston-based footwear brand is celebrating the history of the Pro Leather, and of global basketball, with the new “Raise Your Game” collection. Using both the high and low-top models, each shoe arrives in the same vintage color scheme. The upper consists almost entirely of plain white leather, with soft egret suede in off-white for the lacing system. The inner lining and midsole are made to match this vintage look, also coming in a faded white tone. Converse’s signature star chevron logo comes in a dark obsidian blue, while gold foil Pro Leather branding completes the look.

Converse’s upcoming “Raise Your Game” pack, highlighting the legendary Pro Leather, has been scheduled to release later this month on March, 2020. Both the low and high-top pairs are set to release from both Converse and select retailers for $100 each.
