Concepts and New Balance have a new project releasing later this week. Themed after the infamous trade between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees, the New Balance 997S “Esruc” releases next weekend exclusively at Concepts.

Concepts collaborations might be the pinnacle of sneaker releases. Every time the New England boutique announces a new project, the entire sneaker community listens. As expected from their incredible attention to detail and use of premium materials, the projects are nearly always dropped in extremely limited numbers, especially when they’re working with a brand like New Balance. This week, the two announced their latest work together, this time using the sleek 997S as a canvas. The theme for this drop is the infamous trade of Babe Ruth, the Great Bambino, from the Red Sox to the Yankess that created the legendary Curse. You can find more information on the story through a short animation Concepts posted to their Instagram, along with detailed shots of the shoe. Dressed in a beautiful hot pink suede upper, the “Esruc” 997s adds accents of pale pink and orange around the silhouette to complete the look.
