Comme Des Garçon collaborations have been on fire this year, driving hype with every new release. This week, fashion label is ready to release their latest project with Vans, which covers the Lampin in an all-over CDG logo print.

Vans wide array of skate silhouettes from the 90s continues to live on through this day, constantly evolving with new technologies, materials, and collaborations. The arsenal of vintage silhouettes has been a staple of pop culture and style for decades now, as well as slowly taking their rightful place in the history of fashion. The transition has been aided by a number of collaborative projects over the years, allowing Vans partners to give their own unique twist on the classic sneakers. This week, those honors go to Rei Kawakubo’s Comme des Garçon. The Tokyo-based fashion label has worked with Vans on numerous occasions, though this time around they’ll be working with a somewhat less-convential Vans classic. The Lampin was originally released in the 90s. Built for skating, the sleek silhouette is easily one of the most interesting sneakers in the Vans catalog, thanks to the large windows on either side, showing off the shoe’s canvas basr layer. For this Comme des Garçon project, that base layer is covered an an all-over print of the label’s CDG logo, which is then reinforced by a single-piece of black suede overlay forming the lacing system and heel counter.
