New Balance 550 “Lakers”
The pack is a simple design with inspiration coming from the Los Angeles Lakers Basketball team. The collection introduces two new colorways, the yellow pair highlighting its home colors while the blue pair represents away. The renditions are both set to feature a white leather design that features perforated effects that are either highlighted by purple/gold or gold/purple. A white rubber midsole and a gold and grey/purple outsole are added below to complete the brand-new Lakers-inspired design. The pair was released on October 5th, 2022.
New Balance 2002R
The next New Balance silhouette on our list of favorites is the 2002R. The model is taking the sneaker world by storm right now, thanks to an excellent debut featuring high-profile collaborations and numerous in-line color options.
New Balance 2002R “Protection Pack”
The Boston brand introduced a special-edition version by deconstructing the silhouette’s layered upper titled the Protection pack. This pack has helped bring about much of this silhouette’s popularity. The new look reworks the 2002R’s series of suede overlays, adding rough-cut edges to each one, giving the shoes the appearance of being torn apart or roughed up a bit. Auralee x New Balance 2002R
The partnership between Japanese fashion label AURALEE and New Balance is growing. The brand was founded in 2015 by Ryota Iwai and has become known for its takes on ‘elevated’ basics, offering silhouettes like simple sweaters and work shirts to straight-legged pants and shorts. The new partners turned their attention to another incredibly popular New Balance model of the moment, the 2002R, which was released on September 9th, 2022, for $140 USD. Cast in similar tonal renditions as the previous project, these pairs use a range of leathers and suedes to achieve their unique looks, offered in matching white and yellow color schemes.

New Balance 992
From original colorways to a variety of vibrant colors and new styles, the 992 has only picked up in both frequency of releases and popularity, making it remarkably harder to find the pair you want now. The 992 silhouette has contributed to the dad shoe trend of the year and is also known as the Steve Jobs sneaker. But fear not because the sneaker is also home to many collaborations from brands such as Todd Snyder and Concepts. Take a look below for some of the best iterations in 2022.
Todd Snyder x New Balance 992 “10th Anniversary”
For this release, the 992 celebrates Snyder’s home in New York City through a palette of beautiful grey tones across the mesh and suede upper, while vegetable-tanned leather hits add some color to the design. Silver mid-layers reflect the shiny urban jungle of the city, while 2011 and 2021 branding on the heels cement these shoes as an anniversary celebration. The sneaker was first released on the New Balance website on February 4th, 2022, so we’re adding it to our top list.

This New Balance silhouette is where retro meets modern. The New Balance 327 is also known for its collaborations with Casablance.
atmos x New Balance 327 “Realtree”
New Balance has teamed up with Japanese retailer atmos, the two have transformed the sleek 327 runner into a piece of stealth hunting apparel, thanks to their use of the RealTree camouflage pattern. Dropped onto the 327’s base layer, the famous hunter’s camo covers the shoe from heel to toe, while suede overlays are added in rusty orange and shaggy brown suede. The oversized ‘N’ logos come in black, while an added orange heel tab completes the look for this pair which was released on January 29th, 2022.
New Balance 327 Made in Japan
In Collaboration with M. Lab atelier, this new 327 is constructed entirely from Tochigi leather, a brand native to Japan. This pair features rustic brown leather across the entirety of the upper, which will likely wear over time, transforming the look to a polished, darker iteration. Lighter brown laces and a white & gum sole unit complete the design, while special Made in Japan tongue labels add a simple flourish to the limited-edition release. The Pair was released on October 15th, 2022.
