United Arrows & Sons sub-label Beauty & Youth has released some seriously exciting footwear projects in recent years, and 2020 is no different. This week, the minimalist brand debuts a new project with New Balance, featuring two colorways of the vintage RC205.

New Balance appears to be diving headfirst into a revival of the vintage RC205 runner. Originally released back in 1996 as the COMP800, the sleek silhouette faded into the Boston brand’s archives for almost twenty-five years, before resurrecting the forgotten runner in 2020. Originally announced through a project with Japan’s BEAMS releasing later this month, now, New Balance has tapped fellow Japanese collaborator Beauty & Youth to deliver their minimal, yet bright take on the classic runner. Arriving in two colorways, the Beauty & Youth RC205 paints both shoes in unique shades of brown, one offered in a tonal “wheat”-like color, while the second features a light base layer reinforced by heavy brown leather overlays.
