Sneakers made from recycled materials hit their peak a few years ago, but brands are still innovating on new methods and material reuse to minimize their carbon footprint. This week, Asics has unveiled their new fully-recycled shoe, the NeoCurve.
Asics is one of the few major players in the sneaker world that has been relatively quiet on the front of using recycled materials. That has changed this week, with the introduction of a brand new silhouette constructed from old, dismantled footwear. Designed in collaboration with Studio Hagel, they have crafted the NeoCurve, a brand new model that helps turn old Asics sneakers into brand new ones.
The NeoCurve is an interesting new look for Asics, nodding to their often-overlooked Training Collection of footwear. With the help of the Netherlands-based FastFeetGrinded, they’ve turned old shoes into refurbished textiles to create this brand new silhouette, which balances in between their SportStyle and Performance aesthetics. Featuring a mesh underlay with synthetic overlays and a large, curved midsole, pairs come in either a black & silver build of a grey and silver palette.
