Asics has been having plenty of fun mixing and matching uppers and soles this year, creating some exciting new silhouettes. This week, the GEL-Venture 7 trail runner meets the GEL 180 sole, coming soon.

Asics’ signature GEL technology has been at the forefront of the brand’s performance gear for the better part of four decades now, providing soft and durable cushioning for hundreds of the Japanese brand running shoes. Recently, Asics has debuted updated versions of the classic cushioning gel, making the material stronger and more durable, which in turn allows Asics to use more of it throughout their shoes, without fear of it giving out unexpectedly. This week, the GEL 180 sole has surfaced in combination with a new upper, this time taken from the GEL-Venture 7 trail running shoe. The 180 midsole gives the Venture a little more impact cushioning as well as energy return, which will keep you out on the trails longer. The GEL-Venture 180 is set to debut in a “Wood Crepe” colorway, which casts the upper in a soft tan tone, black Asics branding, and neon blue & green highlights.

Asics’ new GEL-Venture 180 trail running shoe has not yet been announced for release, though they are expected to launch sometime in the coming weeks. The latest entry in the GEL-Venture series will be available from both Asics and select running stores, with a price tag of $130 attached.
