Asics’ classic GEL-Lyte III runner saw a lot of love from the brand in 2020 for its 30th anniversary. Lucky for us, that hot streak continues into 2021, as evidenced by the new “Oyster Grey” corduroy iteration of the vintage runner, available now.
2020 was the thirtieth-anniversary of Asics’ GEL-Lyte III running shoe, a revolutionary design backed by decades of Japanese sports research and craftsmanship. So, as the brand celebrated the shoe’s anniversary last year, we saw dozens of GLIII releases, including high-profile collaborations, rereleased OG colorways, and plenty more. Now, as we head into the new year, Asics is starting 2021 off with a simple new addition to the GEL Lyte lineup, with this corduroy “Oyster Grey” color scheme for women. Available now exclusively in a smaller size range, this version rebuilds the GEL-Lyte III’s split upper almost entirely from soft grey corduroy – save for a tiny patch of faux pony hair on the heel tab.

Asics’ latest colorway of the legendary GEL-Lyte III released earlier this week and is still readily available directly from Asics’ website. The smooth new Oyster Greycolor scheme comes with the usual price tag of $110, and is currently available exclusively in women’s sizes, meaning men will need to go 1.5 half up for a true fit.
