Asics’ fan-favorite GEL-Lyte III sneaker is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and the Japanese footwear brand is rolling out a whole year of special releases for the occasion. This week, the original “Teal” color scheme returns.
The Asics GEL-Lyte III is going big in 2020, and with good reason. This year is the 30th anniversary of the legendary Asics silhouette, designed and originally released way back in 1990 when both the technology inside and the construction were both cutting-edge. With projects from the likes of Sean Wotherspoon and COMME des GARÇON well on the way, there is much to look forward to, but perhaps the most exciting release are the continued renovation of the original GLIII color schemes, like this week’s “Teal” release. Constructed from as much original material as possible, this look layers teal suede overlays and hints of vibrant purple with white base materials for an incredibly clean look.
